Vol. 1 - Chapter 83 - It’s… It’s You!
Meng Niu and the other two were frozen in shock. They prided themselves on their countless kills and cruelty, but compared to Yue Qingyou, they were practically merciful.
The remaining Jiang family forces were already scared out of their wits, not daring to face Yue Qingyou at all. They scattered in all directions, hoping to escape.
Naively, they thought splitting up might give them a chance, but as they jumped into the air, silent shadows emerged from the void, slashing down the fleeing figures one by one. No one knew where these shadows had come from or when they had been lying in wait.
Desperate, the survivors huddled together, realizing there was no escape.
“Who is the head of the Jiang family?” Yue Qingyou asked calmly, her tone devoid of urgency, as she walked forward gracefully, every step exuding elegance and composure.
Without hesitation, the crowd pushed Jiang Zhen, who was hiding in the back, to the front. “Respected Senior! The one you’re looking for is Jiang Zhen. He’s the head of the Jiang family!”
“Yes, this has nothing to do with us!”
“Senior, please have mercy and spare us…”
“Senior, I don’t know the Jiang family that well. I just came here for dinner!”
“The Jiang family is guilty of heinous crimes! How about we help you wipe them out? Just please let us go…”
The crowd begged incessantly, each offering desperate pleas for Yue Qingyou’s mercy.
Some even proposed exterminating the Jiang family themselves in exchange for a chance to live. The rest quickly nodded in agreement.
After all, if the Jiang family hadn’t provoked such a terrifying figure, none of this would have happened tonight! Sacrificing the Jiang family to save themselves was a no-brainer.
Jiang Zhen stared at the crowd in utter disbelief. These were the same people who had just pledged their loyalty to the Jiang family moments ago, but now they were suggesting wiping out his entire family… These were the same people who had fawned on Jiang family during its heyday, and he had given them countless rewards and favors!
“I only want Jiang Zhen and Jiang Li,” Yue Qingyou said as calmly as ever, her tone as casual as if she were discussing the weather.
The crowd immediately understood her meaning. Without hesitation, they stormed into the residence, dragged out Jiang Li, who had been lying on top of several women, and threw him at Jiang Zhen’s feet. Even as the Jiang family faced total annihilation and with his lower body paralyzed, Jiang Li had still been indulging in debauchery, oblivious to the chaos outside.
Thrown to the ground, Jiang Li, disheveled and reeking of alcohol, let out a pained howl as his disabled legs hit the ground. Enraged, he screamed at those who had dragged him out, “You…! Are you rebelling? How dare you treat me like this!
“I am the eldest young master of the Jiang family! Do you have a death wish? I’ll have your heads cut off for this! Guards! Guards!”
It was clear that Jiang Li still had no idea what was happening. The crowd looked at him in silent pity and anger.
Jiang Li finally sensed something was wrong and glanced around. Only then did he notice the bloody corpses and severed limbs littering the courtyard, with streams of blood pooling everywhere. His greatest source of confidence—his father, Jiang Zhen—was kneeling on all fours, trembling uncontrollably.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
“Old man, what’s wrong with you…? What’s going on?” Jiang Li called out to Jiang Zhen but received no response.
Sensing someone approaching from behind, Jiang Li turned his head and was met with the sight of Yue Qingyou, her cold and otherworldly beauty staring down at him.
So beautiful… Jiang Li’s first thought was appreciation, and his gaze unconsciously revealed a lewd look as a lascivious smirk spread across his face.
“Hmph, truly the lowest of insects.” Yue Qingyou’s heart was full of disgust at Jiang Li’s expression, but her lips curled into an enigmatic smile.
“Senior, we’ve delivered the Jiang father and son to you. Now, could you…” The remaining survivors begged Yue Qingyou, trembling.
“Mm, you’ve done well. You may leave.” Yue Qingyou’s smile deepened.
“Thank you, Senior!” The crowd’s faces lit up with joy.
But before they could celebrate, Yue Qingyou spoke again. “As a reward for your obedience, I’ll make your departure less painful.
“You will now kill each other.”
“Senior, wait! You said you would—ugh!” One man stepped forward in panic, trying to plead further, but before he could finish, a blade pierced his chest from behind.
“You…!” The man turned around in disbelief to face his attacker, who frantically shook his head and stammered, “I-it wasn’t me! My hands… they’re not listening to me!”
No sooner had he spoken than the attacker himself was run through by another blade from the side. In an instant, chaos erupted. The crowd began slaughtering each other in a frenzy, each claiming they didn’t want to fight, but their bodies moved uncontrollably. The air filled with screams and wails, and blood splattered everywhere.
Before long, only one person remained standing amidst the sea of corpses, his body pierced by dozens of blades. Covered in blood, he lifted his weapon with trembling hands, slit his own throat, and fell lifelessly to the ground.
The scene petrified Jiang Li, and his legs couldn’t stop shaking. At this moment, he finally understood the terrifying power of the woman before him.
“P-please, don’t kill me! I-I’ll give you whatever you want! Anything the Jiang family has is yours!” Jiang Li began begging Yue Qingyou desperately.
“Don’t worry. The supreme Demon Lord wishes to see you, so I won’t kill you.” Yue Qingyou’s tone was icy and calm.
If the Demon Lord hadn’t personally requested to meet Jiang Li, she would have killed him long ago. Just his previous insults toward the Demon Lord and his wife, coupled with how he had just looked at her, were enough to kill him a thousand times over.
“Demon Lord…?” Jiang Zhen and Jiang Li repeated the title in confusion, their minds racing to figure out who she was referring to.
When had the Jiang family provoked such a figure…?
As the father and son were lost in thought, Ning Yechen slowly descended from the sky. Around him, hundreds of shadowy guards emerged from the darkness, bowed deeply with their hands over their hearts, and chanted in unison, “All hail the Demon Lord!!”
Even Yue Qingyou stepped aside gracefully, bowed slightly with a hand over her chest, and said softly, “Demon Lord.”
As for Meng Niu and the other two, they had long since dropped to the ground, lying flat like obedient pets. After all, pets needed to know their place…
Ning Yechen strode past his bowing guards and stood before Jiang Zhen and Jiang Li.
The father and son looked up at him, their expressions twisting in shock and disbelief.
“It’s… It’s you!”
What do you think?
